A Step Ahead is associated with the National Association of Geriatric Managers. Their goal is to assist in the life-affecting decisions faced by elders and their families.

Maintain and nurture a meaningful and fulfilling lifestyle at the highest level of physical, emotional, and spiritual independence, and assist elders in coping with the challenges of aging.

A federally funded program for an adult family member, or another (age 18 or older), who is a primary care provider to an individual who is 60 or older.

We provide Community Based Support Programs, such as:

Multi Purpose Senior Services Program (MSSP)
Linkages, a unique Case Management Program for disabled adults 18 and older;
Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP);
Information and Assistance about Senior Services available in our area; and,
Funding for Nutrition Sites and Meals on Wheels (MOW) food services for Seniors.

Alcohol and Drug Counseling (Edited, 1/9/05)

The Calaveras County Alcohol/Drug Program (CCADP) provides free substance abuse counseling and education.

CCADP provides services to all schools and school levels on referral from the school probation department. We also provide this service at parent
